When should I schedule my first fitting appointment?

Your first fitting should occur at least six weeks before your wedding date. We recommend saving a spot as soon you know when you’ll have the dress with you. Contact our studio, we’ll help you figure out the best date for the fitting and pickup.

 

How long does the typical wedding dress alteration process take?

The typical wedding gown alteration process takes three to four weeks.

 

When’s the best time to have the wedding dress alterations done?

Some brides plan on losing weight before the wedding. If this is the case, we recommend

scheduling your first wedding dress fitting six weeks before the big day. However, if you don’t foresee size fluctuations, you can schedule your fitting as soon as you know when you’ll have the dress with you. Due to the limited number of appointments, we recommend securing your spot in advance.

 

How long does a wedding dress fitting session last?                

Most fitting session take 30 to 45 minutes.

 

How many fittings are needed for a wedding dress?

With us it usually takes just two appointments -an initial fitting appointment and the pickup date- for your dream dress to be ready. If you need an adjustment on pickup day, it can usually be done while you wait. If this is not possible, you may need to come back to pick up the dress.

What should I bring to my first fitting?

Please bring your wedding dress and shoes (or a pair of shoes with the heel height you plan on wearing.) You may also bring any special undies or accessories you’ll wear on the special day.

Can I bring guests to my fitting sessions?

Of course, your guests are welcome.

 

Can I reschedule a fitting session?

We know plans can change. Call us; we will be happy to reschedule.

 

What happens if I cancel my wedding?

If your wedding is canceled, we will work with you to make the unfortunate circumstance as painless as possible.

 

Is there a charge for the consultation?

Since we only have a limited number of in-person appointments, there is a $55 fee for in-person consultations, which will be waived if you decide to work with us. We also can provide a free phone, text, or email consultations.

 

 Can you provide a quote for the wedding dress alterations before I commit?

Absolutely. Just text us a photo of the dress, and describe the alterations you want (for example, length, sides, shortening the straps or bustle.)

 

My wedding is coming up quickly. Do you offer rush alterations?

Though we usually try to accommodate rush orders, Olga’s availability is contingent on her existing workload and the type of alterations needed. As a first step, please send us a photo of the dress. Note down the needed alterations and wedding date, and we’ll respond.

 

Can you alter a sample gown that is too big for me? Or a little tight?

We can increase or reduce most gowns by around three sizes.

 

How much do wedding dress alterations cost?

Most salons charge a flat rate that includes taking in the sides, hemming, and creating a bust.

In San Diego, a standard flat rate for wedding dress alterations goes from $400 to $600 plus, depending on the salon. At Olga's, we will itemize the charge for every service, so you only get charged for what you need. We will provide a no-obligation quote on your first appointment.

 

What are your accepted payment methods?

We accept payment by cash, check, Venmo, or credit card. Alterations are charged upon pickup once the dress is to your entire satisfaction.

Do you also offer Mother-of-the-Bride, bridesmaids, and prom dress alterations?
Of course! Though we specialize in wedding dresses, we also offer alterations for formal wear, such as Mother-of-the-Bride dress, bridesmaids, prom dresses and formal dresses for any special occasion.
